Middleware's AI Powered Cloud Observability Platform

Providing Unified Data Monitoring, Analysis, and Solutions for Diverse Use Cases and Industries

The cloud has, for quite some time now, been deemed advantageous compared to physical, in-house server-based systems due to cloud servers providing increased flexibility, more comprehensive and innovative capabilities, as well as a significant gap in efficiency and performance.

The growth in the cloud computing market, which, according to Fortune Business Insights, is projected to exhibit a CAGR of 20% from about $677B in 2023 to over $2432B by 2030, has led to the development of a variety of cloud monitoring and cloud observability software.

With platforms of stand-alone entities such as Dynatrace and Datadog or embedded software like Azure Monitor and AWS CloudWatch, companies and organizations offering and/or utilizing cloud-based and microservices can ensure or are ensured that applications run well despite overwhelming and complex data.

To assist clients involved with cloud infrastructure, cloud observability startup Middleware, founded by Laduram Vishnoi back in 2022, builds an AI-based, cloud-native platform that identifies and fixes issues across one’s entire technology stack by unifying data end-to-end.

Unified Understanding and Automated Solutions

Cloud observability, though similar to cloud monitoring, not only captures and displays data for companies to keep track of but also understands a system’s state and condition by analyzing the inputs and outputs of said data. The results of these analyses are then used to help engineers optimize the reliability and performance of one’s application’s system.

In traditional fashion, developer and operation teams are required to run these steps manually, spending way more funds, time, and energy than they should while there may actually be more contributive tasks or projects to work on. These less-than-productive ways are what Middleware aims to decimate by automating monitoring along with all the processes leading to an end-to-end solution.

Middleware’s AI observes one’s applications in real-time, surveilling logs, metrics, and frontend as well as backend traces, all monitored to find and diagnose potential and/or existing issues before they get out of hand. Middleware can also be set to send out AI-powered auto alerts of any anomaly and automatically offer solutions for engineers to perform.

For those wanting a little more independence, Middleware collects one’s data and places them in a unified dashboard, allowing engineers to access all the information and insightful metrics they need from all systems and applications in just one place. This way, if one’s dev team prefers to come up with their own solutions, they would still be able to. A variety of search options and advanced filters are designed into Middleware to provide independent engineers more ease.

Appearing through visualizations such as graphs and line charts, logged events, infrastructure metrics, distributed traces, and test results can also be accessed by engineers side-by-side for them to compare performance data that, when analyzed, provides insightful information.

Organized Teamwork

To monitor one’s hosts and servers, only a single script installation is needed, and to accommodate the many uses a company or organization would certainly need, Middleware offers a variety of tools for specific monitoring goals.

Middleware has a set of tools for engineers to detect and resolve issues of serverless applications, test the health and performance of containerized environments, synthetically monitor systems from global locations, and detect as well as analyze user data for web and mobile applications. Middleware’s tools can be integrated with tech stacks such as Node.Js, Python, and Java too.

The tech and algorithms Middleware embraces allow its users plenty of flexibility and scalability, with a diverse range of use cases for various industries. Designed to be friendly for teams, Middleware’s platform can provide all-encompassing information for dev and ops teams, security teams, as well as business teams, every error and log assigned to respective team members. With all of its features, Middleware aims to help teams become more proactive and make intelligent decisions.

Last August, Middleware raised $6.5M during a seed round. The round was led by 8VC and included participation from Fin Capital, Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch, Tokyo Black, Decent Capital, Begin Capital, Beat Venture, and Gokul Rajaram. Following the funding, Middleware intends to expand its team and gain more customers by developing new features and adding generative AI to the mix.

Most of the platform’s features are available for free with certain constraints, such as limited storage, finite host numbers, and so on. Middleware also offers a pay-as-you-go plan, a $10 per host per month plan, and an enterprise plan.
