Essential AI's $56.5M Funding for Full-Stack AI Products

In a fast-paced landscape of technology where thriving with innovation is essential to survive in the industry, streamlining and optimizing one’s workflows whilst drowning in endless data has become a priority for most. 

One way of achieving this is by eliminating the need to perform mundane tasks that may stop one from actually doing meaningful things that can change the world for the better. Plenty of companies have come up with ways of automating time-consuming and resource-draining tasks with AI-powered products for various industries.

Essential AI, founded by former Google Brain researchers Ashish Vaswani and Niki Parmar, believes in utilizing the power of AI not simply to automate burdening tasks but to reinvent how humans interact with computers altogether, paving the way to unlocking new capabilities and driving overall productivity forward.

Full Human and Tech Potential

While Essential AI is still in its early stages and hasn’t officially launched any commercial products yet, the startup seems to be heading in the direction of creating full-stack AI products to boost productivity in various industries, mainly focusing on business applications.

Based on what Essential AI has shared with the world so far through its website and press release, it is likely that the startup will be building its own foundation models, leveraging them to build software applications that can be used to automate repetitive tasks, analyze data for informed and deep-knowledge insights, and tools that can improve efficiency in various business processes.

With its creation, Essential AI aims not to replace humans with computers but instead make them work together to unlock potential capabilities that they would not have been able to achieve on their own. This could include apps equipped with an AI assistant that handles data cleaning or basic analysis so data analysts can work on more high-skilled tasks 10 times faster.

Reaching Efficiency with Enterprise Brain

The startup calls its innovative technology the “Enterprise Brain” and started working on the tech as they realized that corporate functions today are harder to do than they should be, mainly due to the challenging, large amounts of data that exist today.

Essential AI believes that its LLMs will have a great impact on organizations and, in the long run, society, especially with the continuous technical breakthroughs that we have seen in the field of AI so far after only a relatively brief time, coupled with insightful human feedback.

The startup plans to continue its product development process following its series A funding that resulted in $56.5M, led by March Capital. Big tech companies such as Google, Nvidia, and AMD participated in the round along with previous seed round backers Franklin Venture Partners, KB Investment, and Thrive Capital.
