DealPage Creates AI Copilot For Sales Engineers

Help Sales Engineers Save Time and Raise Revenue Through Automated Efficiency

Sales engineers play an incredibly essential role in a company, their expertise being technical and complex products and services. SEs not only extensively understand the features and benefits of technical products but are also trained to assist customers in the field.

SEs are the ones we see explaining technical concepts and demoing products during sales. Their main goal is to provide customer support through implementation. Though this is what they’re mainly trained to do, SEs are still spending most of their time away from customers to perform low return on investment (ROI) tasks, which can become dull and demotivating.

DealPage, a Y Combinator-backed startup founded by Ani Gottiparthy and Andrew Luo, created an AI-powered platform that can save SEs from manually performing repetitive workloads by automating the process.

Automated Solutions

The tasks SEs often have to handle include collecting, organizing, and maintaining technical resources into knowledge bases* as well as manually writing responses to sales information requests such as requests for proposals (RFPs)* and security questionnaires.

SEs are also regularly tasked to answer an abundance of technical questions from account representatives and sales-related questions from stakeholders. These time-consuming and repetitive tasks make SEs waste away the skills and time that they could spend assisting customers, which is what they are trained to do best.

*Knowledge Base: Documentation that can include FAQs, how-to guides, step-by-step processes, video guides, and introductory as well as troubleshooting instructions to help users find solutions to their queries.
*RFPs: Request for Proposals, business documents that announce a project, describe it, and solicit bids from qualified contractors to complete it.

The main solution to helping SEs, in this case, is automation. Companies can utilize AI, RPAs*, or workflow automation software, and plenty of them exist in the market at the moment.

*RPAs: Robotic Process Automation, a software technology that makes it easy to build, deploy, and manage software robots that emulate human actions and interactions with digital systems.

AI-focused companies like Salesforce Einstein, Zoominfo, and Gong provide services to automate data entry, customer service, or sales call analysis. By providing such services, workers in the sales industry can spend the extra time they now have to develop skills to further excel in assisting customers.

Although many companies, like the ones mentioned above, offer enough of a solution for automation, DealPage ups the ante by creating a platform that can automate the extensive responsibilities often burdened on sales engineers specifically.

No More Repetitive Workflow

DealPage’s platform includes a low-maintenance knowledge base, one that would regularly require SE teams to manually build and fill all on their own, that is run by AI assistant Paige.

Paige is designed to collect and organize trusted information into the knowledge base without much human intervention. Users simply need to upload files or sync data with ones already stored in external tools like Google Drive or Notion, and the base will be built in minutes.

Once the data-filled documents are uploaded, Paige will be able to search through them, make revisions, and respond to any RFPs or answer any security questionnaires by proposing outlines and drafts to users. The drafts are completely editable through DealPage’s in-house document editor, giving users the freedom to make any changes needed.

Taking the whole team into account, DealPage offers built-in task management tools that not only allow the sales engineer team to collaborate in finalizing content in real-time but also stakeholders or any vital member of the company involved, to ensure that every response created fits any criteria before submission.

Speed and Security

End-to-end workflows that would usually take hours for SE teams to complete and maintain can now be done in minutes. With the platform being format-friendly, accepting data from spreadsheets, documents, and so on, automation has become more accessible than ever.

Without forgetting the importance of security, the platform provides various hosting options and access control settings that are simple to navigate through, leaving sales engineer teams with less privacy and safety-related burdens and assurance that data will never fall into the wrong hands.

With a platform filled with features and functionality specifically tailored to the needs of sales engineers, DealPage hopes to provide more comprehensive support that will not only save time and reduce stress for sales engineer teams but also help grow a company’s revenue through efficiency.
